Total football...

Tim yang menemani Kroasia ke perempat final ternyata Jerman. Jerman lolos setelah mengalahkan tuan rumah Austria 0-1. Kroasia pun menorehkan hasil sempurna dengan mengalahkan Polandia 1-0 sehingga menempatkannya tetap diposisi puncak dengan 9 poin dari 3 kali kemenangan.

Di perempat final, Jerman harus menghadapi Portugal yang memuncaki Group A. Sedangkan Kroasia harus menghadapi Turki (runner up Group A).
